A set of four paintings depicting the Matriarchs. From left to right:
Panel 1 - Sarah
Focuses upon Abraham’s wife Sarah. Her insight and depth of wisdom, and the people and stories that
surround her.
Panel 2 - Rebecca
Isaac’s wife Rebecca’s beauty and grace and the tumultuous and prophetic birth of her twin sons Jacob
and Esau.
Panel 3 - Leah
Leah’s marital deception and her relationship with her husband Jacob and sister Rachel.
Panel - Rachel
Jacob's second wife, Rachel, holds a mandrake (symbol of fertility) and stands before the curtain that
covers her Tomb. Leah looks over her shoulder. The painting focuses on Rachel’s initial childlessness,
her death in childbirth while bearing Benjamin and the legacy of Joseph.
